Mr. Sunshine

Born in Joseon but raised in America, Eugene Choi returns to the country he once escaped as an officer of the United States Marine Corps. There, he meets Go Ae-shin, a noblewoman whose elegant upbringing hides a dangerous secret: behind closed doors, she is fighting for a country struggling to hold on to its independence. Their paths cross with aristocrats, soldiers, revolutionaries, and powerful figures whose loyalties are tested as foreign influence tightens around Joseon. Against a nation approaching enormous change, personal ambitions and complicated relationships become inseparable from the fight over its future.
