Cha Yo-han is a brilliant anesthesiologist who can diagnose the cause of a patient’s pain with remarkable speed, but he is also a man living with a condition that leaves him unable to feel pain himself. After serving time in prison over a controversial medical case, he returns to the hospital and crosses paths with Kang Si-young, a compassionate resident who becomes his partner in treating patients with mysterious and difficult-to-diagnose conditions. As they work together to uncover the source of their patients’ suffering, Yo-han and Si-young are forced to confront difficult questions about medicine, quality of life, and how far a doctor should go to end unbearable pain.
